2017 Ford Fiesta

The Fiesta is the company’s one of the best-known and most popular models for almost four decades. It was originally launched in 1976 and it is currently in its seventh generation (which was updated in 2013). The redesign is expected already for some time and company’s spokesman finally announced that new model will come in 2017. The eight-generation model will be completely designed in Germany and it will be offered worldwide. The 2017 Ford Fiesta will be manufactured also in Spain, China, India and many other countries, so we can say that it will be globally competitive.

The first view of the car showed a modified chassis testing mule based on the current Fiesta. It grabbed attention with its revised front-end design giving new modified shapes for the grille and air intakes for the 2017 Ford Fiesta. The model will have a wider track as compared to the current Fiesta revealing that the seventh-generation car will be larger in size than the present hatchback.

The new model is said to have taken the styling design from the facelifted Focus brand of car which came on roads in the month of November in UK. The present sixth-generation Fiesta had received a facelift in 2013 waiting for replacement towards the end of 2016. So, its launch later in 2016 becomes highly probable.

The new Fiesta will certainly have to compete against its rivals in the automobile industry like Volkswagen’s Polo and Vauxhall Corsa for maintaining its title of the bestselling car.  The car will feature a distinctive entrance fascia, big rear wing, improved suspension. It will also have an additional 2.3 liter inline-four inside the Ford mustang EcoBoost. Equipped with all-new torque-vectoring AWD system, it will have a set up comparable to a rally car.

For the North American market, base model will probably keep the current 1.6 liter EcoBoost engine which outputs 120 hp and 112 lb-ft of torque. There will be also a variant equipped with 1.0 liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine, which has 123 horses and 125 lb-ft of torque. This engine is also available without turbocharger, naturally aspirated, and in that case it outputs 80 horses. Since 2017 Ford Fiesta will be offered worldwide, there will be several more engine options in offer, depending on the market. For example, European model will beside these two petrol engine be offered in diesel variant (it is still unknown will current 1.6 liter turbodiesel remain or there will be new engine in offer. The 2017 Fiesta will be equipped with 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission, while manual transmission will be optional.
